If you need help when we are closed

If you ring the surgery on 01752 662780 outside of normal opening hours and your medical problem cannot wait until the surgery re-opens, you will hear a recorded message advising you to ring NHS 111.

You should use the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it’s not a life-threatening situation.

Call 111 if:

  • you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency
  • you think you need to go to A&E or need another NHS urgent care service
  • you don’t know who to call or you don’t have a GP to call
  • you need health information or reassurance about what to do next

111 will give you the healthcare advice you need or direct you to the appropriate local service – for example, out of hours GP service, minor injuries unit, emergency department, community nurse or pharmacy.

Note – calls to and from these services may be recorded.

Physical accessibility

There is a car park for patients behind the surgery, a ramp to the front door for wheelchair access and free parking on some nearby roads including North Road West.

We are a disabled-compliant organisation. If it is difficult for you to open the door, please ring the bell and a receptionist will help. Alarms have been fitted in the toilet so that anyone who is taken ill can summon help quickly.

How to make a complaint

You have the right to make a complaint about any aspect of NHS care, treatment or service, and this is written into the NHS Constitution on GOV.UK.

North Road West Medical Centre encourages feedback because it’s used to improve our services. If you wish to share your views and experiences, positive or negative, simply ask to speak to speak to the practice manager.

If you would like to make a complaint in writing please pick up a form from reception or alternatively email nrw.general@nhs.net

You can give feedback without making a complaint.

The Friends and Family Test (FFT) is available for NHS services, including hospitals, GP practices and mental health services.

The FFT is an anonymous and quick way for you to provide feedback to an NHS service about the service provided to you.
